Romans 8:36, Psalm 44:22
Counted for Slaughter, But Not Conquered

In this message, we examine how Paul uses Psalm 44 to show that God’s people have always faced suffering, pressure, persecution, and pain. Yet suffering does not mean separation. Being counted as sheep for the slaughter does not mean we have been conquered.

The world may count us as defeated, but God counts us as more than conquerors through Christ.

In this sermon, we discuss:

Why Paul says, “As it is written”
How Psalm 44 gives context to Romans 8:36
Why suffering does not mean abandonment
The difference between being counted by the world and counted by God
How trust anchors the believer in the Word of God
Why grudges against God can lead to grudging obedience
How full trust in God moves us toward becoming more than conquerors

Trust is not based on what you feel. Trust is anchored in what God has said. His Word still stands. His love does not fail. His people may be counted for slaughter, but they are not conquered.
